I went to public school but in the meantime taught myself computer programming, drawing, photography, and other subjects I was interested in. And I've worked for myself ever since graduating from college. So I'd say that attending a public school does not preclude becoming a self-starter.
- gexla 18y agoI agree. School has nothing to do with it. Some areas of hackerdom (web developers for example) are heavily populated by one man businesses. For many, this route is actually easier than getting hired and working in an office. As a business owner, taking it easy is nice. Being broke, not so much. If you actually want to pay those bills, you will become a self starter. ;)
