Apart from the complications of buying/selling/holding Bitcoin, it is no different to trading in something else with perceived value that has active buyers and sellers and which has questionable intrinsic value. However, there are numerous other schemes, derivatives, exchanges, faux lookalikes, messiahs, manipulators and fakes that make for those absurd rules.
