I moved my apple account between countries and lost a lot tv series and books I bought ... oh sorry I didn't buy them I bought the right to temporary view them. same with some old games/apps, they work still perfectly on my older iPhone with newest updates, yet due to changing the store and developers not "updating" them they are no longer available for me. moved to android, with linageOS.

Do you know if that affects movies bought through Apple’s TV app (US)? I have quite a few movies in my collection and would be really annoyed if they didn’t work in Europe.

There are still countries where the Apple TV app hasn't even been released. Summing up the Wikipedia numbers, about 100 countries have access to this app. Even in Europe, Apple TV+ isn't available everywhere (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204411 https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204411). In countries like Albania they don't even seem to make iTunes Movies available. According to this community post (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/253966277 https://discussions.apple.com/thread/253966277) that implies that DRM'd content is not available in those countries, and that you'll need to download your movies and for them to work depending on the country you're visiting. If you're coming over for a temporary visit, setting up a VPN on your home network may be a good idea. Many American services are not available in other countries, even if you're a paying customer.

Purchases of DRM movies are like purchasing an unlimited free rental card from Blockbuster. They are not yours. Streaming services will even edit or censor movies as they please. https://variety.com/2019/digital/news/hbo-edits-game-of-thrones-coffee-cup-1203207545/# https://variety.com/2019/digital/news/hbo-edits-game-of-thro...! https://scribe.citizen4.eu/everything-80s/why-are-streaming-services-editing-our-favorite-movies-6a03efc32168 https://scribe.citizen4.eu/everything-80s/why-are-streaming-... Honestly the only way to preserve most digital-only video media today is piracy.

Your best bet is to do like many.. Pirate the content and pay for your 'digital content' to support the actors. It seems almost every "cloud" based system has a built-in time bomb. I'm now getting notices that Amazon is closing some of its services. Once things are no longer profitable, or technology shifts your stuff is quickly abandoned. Microsoft Groove Music anyone?
