I bill a small amount ( < 50 hours ) a year mostly to family friends who need a bit of IT help. I pick a price that I think is fair for the service and divide that by my hourly rate. The hourly rate is simply there because it was too confusing for both me and my customers to have a fixed price for each random thing they might need help with. ie. Instead of billing $500 for a "Basic Website", I'd bill 10 x $50/hr for "Web Consulting".
