My late wife has a PayPal account. When she died I wanted to put my name on the account. They requested a Death Certificate, which I provided. They acknowledged the Death Certificate then demanded prof that she was dead, before they would transfer the account to my control. I even talked to a Lawyer about this, who also got really pissed off at PayPal's attitude. Alas there is no money in the account so he said there really wasn't anything to do. The only person that can close the account seems to be my dead wife, and she appears to have no current interests in PayPal's shenanigans'.
