Expecting thousands of people to all agree that a huge change is a good idea, is kinda ridiculous though.

- snvzz 4y agoEmployees do not have to agree. They can instead leave. The door is right there. The way these employees were dismissed is pretty humane. They will get severance pay, and end up in a better place than if they just up and left.
- mikkergp 4y agoIm confused by your position here, employees should agree with all decisions or leave? That’s not generally the relationship I’ve had with management or peers in my career.
- snvzz 4y agoThe issue has nothing to do with disagreeing at a personal level, and everything to do with proper professional conduct. Basic levels thereof. I can disagree with decisions, without creating internal strife within the company I work for. I would hope you can, too.
- rondini 4y agoMusk publicly shaming his engineers for code they wrote is beyond inappropriate conduct. Any internal strife is entirely on him. Professionals should not be expected to extend any respect to those who treat them like dirt.
- cmsj 4y agoI'd remind you that Elon called out one of Twitter's engineers on Twitter for the Android app being slow. Professional conduct is clearly not a priority to him.
- snvzz 4y agoIt would be helpful to link the relevant twit, both for verification purposes and to be able to judge his words with our own brains. There's way too much hearsay being flung about in social media about Twitter's new ownership.
- Pfhortune 4y agoOk. Here's the original tweet: https://nitter.net/elonmusk/status/1591853644944932865 https://nitter.net/elonmusk/status/1591853644944932865 The reply: https://nitter.net/EricFrohnhoefer/status/1591902285403418624 https://nitter.net/EricFrohnhoefer/status/159190228540341862... And a screenshot of another exchange: https://nitter.net/cabel/status/1592228117409845249#m https://nitter.net/cabel/status/1592228117409845249#m Elon thinks he's an engineer, but he is just rich brat trying to look like an engineer, and throwing the real engineers under the bus in the process.
- gausswho 4y agoWhile I question the leadership merits of slagging off your own product, he did not personally attack any team member as claimed by parent post.
- gausswho 4y agoFollowing up on my own post, I failed to read the third link where he did ask an employee who tried to shine light on the Android slowness. After what looks like a reasonable series of responses, Musk fired him https://www.theverge.com/2022/11/14/23458247/elon-musk-fires-engineer-correcting-twitter https://www.theverge.com/2022/11/14/23458247/elon-musk-fires... Keep your head down, I guess.
- Pfhortune 4y agoEDIT: Ah, didn't see your reply until after I posted this. He tweeted at Fraunhoefer: > Twitter is super slow on Android. What have you done to fix that? Which sounds a lot like an attack to me, coming from someone in Elon's position. If you need further explanation, he addressed it at him with the word 'you'. Also, firing the guy after this exchange is kind of a personal attack.
- mikkergp 4y agoTell me more about the internal strife these engineers created, I didn’t see that mentioned in the tweet thread. Maybe it will help me understand your position better.
