What Is a Nilpotent Matrix?
- jjgreen 4y agoNilpotency is interesting, and defined for rings in general. A ring is of bounded index if there is some N such that aᴺ is zero for every nilpotent a in A. Theorem (Jacobsen 1950), if A is a ring with unit 1 and of bounded index, then for any a, b in A with ab = 1, we have ba = 1
