My dealership tried to sell me tires at $300/each. At a tire shop I got comparable tires for about 60% of that. Dealerships make a lot of money via convenience (you’re already here for your 30k service) and just plain ignorance (most people have no idea what makes their car work or what repair cost is fair).

That's weird. Dealers are known for marking up parts and service, but around here they are aggressively price matching the local tire stores
