Google slapped with $391.5M settlement in privacy lawsuit
- pencilguin 4y ago"Pocket change", "Cost of doing business", and "Too big to regulate" all come to mind.
- nmeagent 4y agoRight, too small by about three orders of magnitude.
- pencilguin 4y agoProbably it would require regularly applied criminal charges enforced on company C-suite officers to make any change in behavior likely. Lately the only cases I know of where the CEO was charged were Ross Ulbricht and Liz Holmes. Notably absent from the list are the officers of Wells Fargo, who were not even fired.
- deng 4y agoCompared to the 85M they just had to pay to Arizona alone[1], this is an absolute bargain for Google. Not even 400M for 40 states, what a joke.
