Star Trek is basically space communism, and their skies are filled with megastructures that put our current dilemma to shame.
It’s not about siding with industry or some economic philosophy. It’s that humanity, on a long enough timeframe, is either leaving or dying.
- forgetfreeman 4y agoThat is certainly the prevalent narrative and yet we've got roughly 4.5 billion years to solve the sun-eating-the-earth problem. Shitting on our dominant modes of asteroid detection to try to compete for saturated market space (cell service are you fucking kidding me) advances no species preservation goals.
