I've just spent over two months looking for a Senior role in EU. I believe EU landscape is vastly different than US but I noticed similar trends. I had a ton of 'offers' on LinkedIn. I applied to few dozens. I got any kind of meeting with a recruiter with maybe third of them. Roughly half of those paid below the market rate. The other half I interviewed with further. Some ghosted me, some straight out told me no after take home assignment without a reason, some had assignment so ridiculously time consuming I just refused to do them. I got to around 5 proper tech interviews, got offers from 3, one being heavily underpaid(even though they knew what I asked for since the beginning). I was fairly picky as I aimed at the higher side of western salaries even though I live in Poland. I managed to get something well paid albeit really boring that I might end up changing in a year. Worth noting that I have mainly experience with .NET/Azure so that limits my options heavily. Very few companies want generalists besides FAANG.
