Here's a clue:
1. You get surprise-fired, then rehired.
2. Your new CEO is publishing, unpublishing, publishing, unpublishing features in a coke-fueled frenzy.
3. And is openly talking about the company going bankrupt.
4. And is picking fights with US senators responsible for media oversight.
5. And is blocking ad agency representatives who are trying to explain why their ads are pulled and what should be done so they come back.
... you can't possibly be "strong and motivated" for this CEO, even if you were prior one of the best software engineers in the company and the region as a whole. No, you want to resign and move on from this train wreck.
But you see, if you resign, you don't get compensation. So you stick around and don't resign, but give zero fucks, and your goal is to kinda push your boss into firing you.
