I really miss the days when journalists would treat us readers as adults with the capacity to come to our own decisions about how to interpret a set of facts, rather than their feeling the need to drop clues like this so that we shall be lead carefully and safely to the proper conclusions.
We know it's a weak defense. We don't need journalists to spell it out for us. Talk about sounding like a high-school essay.
This sounds so much more professional, and skips the editorializing.
The document includes sections such as “Deep Interest in Making the World a Better Place” and “Positive Impact on Others.” It opens with the hope that it will encourage the judge to “examine Ms. Holmes the human being” before bringing down the hammer.
