Each generation has to discover for itself that "Free Love" is always disadvantageous to women. The Free Love movement in the 1960's petered out because women found out that having sex with multiple partners leaves them holding the bag when they get pregnant. Women have their own interests and their highest interest is that the man stays with her, to help her care for their offspring. For men, it's obviously advantageous to go around knocking up as many women as possible without having the burden to raise and support those children.
