Article states `Avoid at all costs the mean-spirited obituary published by the Guardian.`. Any idea why is it mean spirited?

- yesenadam 4y agoI just read it, and "mean-spirited" seems to describe it much better than "attempts a serious estimate of the man and artist". Almost every paragraph is oddly negative, and sprinkled with ominous, poisonous phrases. As one of the comments on that page puts it, "A great, generous man. It's a pity we get this sneering, begrudging obit from someone who clearly has little time for Berger's considerable contribution to our culture."
