I'm a college student. Relationships among a lot of young people work differently than they did for previous generations. For most of us, I think it's generally accepted that unless both parties explicitly say they want to be in a relationship, they aren't in one. Sex by itself means nothing with regard to the actual status of the relationship. I and a lot of my friends have been in/are in open or semi-open relationships.
