Aren’t Europeans, and many Asian ethnic groups considered an “indigenous group” of their home country. In such a case I don’t think say the Japanese are pissed off on the exportation of their culture through anime, etc.
To make such a general statement seems weird. Given the diverse nature of such a large number of groups.
- doomrobo 4y agofwiw I think an important distinction is that you're talking about a majority group. It's probably different for the indigenous people that the Japanese Empire committed genocide against, like the Ainu
- II2II 4y agoMost of the indigenous people who I have met want to share their culture and are okay with earning a living by selling art that reflect their culture. They do not like it when others do the same, most likely due to a history of cultural misrepresentation, exploitation, and outright theft.
