Have you inquired about this in the US in your area? What do you mean by high grade? To some people this implies physical durability, like an ad for a Ford truck.
It's easy to donate books to libraries in the US and I do it all the time. Here locally, many of them will be sold in the Friends of the Library book sale, so that the library can purchase items on its formal purchase list for example. However I've seen e.g. my specialty books on Blender 3D and web development on the shelf, in addition to literature titles.
There are also Little Free Libraries around the city and most are crammed full with books of all kinds, many very interesting philosophical titles in there too.
Finally there are usually boxes of free books left outside homes if you walk around. Some are more prosaic but often there's a theme such as foreign language learning.
- trifit 4y agoI view a city’s knowledge graph as one of those large Tesla batteries for the home. These could be recharged through divination on certain topics and hosting open conferences for citizens + targeting influencer partnerships for pushing people towards intellectual pursuits. Last I checked these programs happened/started in September so we are in the early stages but such movements could really uplift millions. (unable to find the direct source atm)
- themodelplumber 4y agoSeems like the conversational goalposts moved a bit, are you answering a question or broadening a proposal? What is meant by divination? Sometimes people use less common words with a variety of possible meanings as a way of protecting their thoughts or ideas from scrutiny; hope that's not what's going on here.
