Half the stuff on the chart has to do with government action. Gold is on there too? I'm not getting it.
- jfengel 4y agoGold experienced a surge in the 1970s. It peaked at $850 an ounce in January 1970, and dropped to less than half. In inflation-adjusted terms, it never got back to that level. Today that amount would be around $3,200. The current price of gold is about $1,800.
