the policy is about banning anyone who's impersonating someone else. there's a major bot issue with accounts pretending to be others, and people are playing coy about it specifically doing this as a political stunt to show how bugaboo Elon is abusing free speech (an issue they generally only argue in favor of when it affects themselves)
- Eddy_Viscosity2 4y agoHe was also banning 'clearly marked' parody accounts, that were targeting him anyway. This is in line with his pettiness, like cancelling a blogger's car order because he didn't like the blog, accusing people critical of him of being pedos and so on. The real political stunt was Musk pretending he cared more about free speech than being vindictive against his critics.
- taolegal 4y agois it free speech to show a decapitated effigy of your political opponents?
- Eddy_Viscosity2 4y agoThat's a full on non-sequitur. If you're asking if I think that twitter should moderate content and that some things should be banned. Yes. Does that mean I think that parody account of Elon telling people to drink pee as obvious parody is one of those things? No.
