It doesn't matter if you're wrong time and again - you just need to show up with emotionally satisfying narrative and boom - there is your TV appearance, there is your book sale, there is your merch deal. Alex Jones is a conspicuous exemplar but you can find less outrageous versions anywhere. Gordon Chang for example, 30 year history of 'calling' the imminent collapse of China.
