This is interesting. Now that I think of it, a transgender transition product could propel a company to this level.
Charging people a permanent lifelong subscription fee for being who they identify as - would be the absolute biggest revenue generator in healthcare history.
Imagine if the population of trans increased from its current level to, say, 5% of all humans. That would be a lifelong subscription plan for a subscriber base larger than the USA. To my knowledge this is currently unprecedented.
Trans medicine is a massive revenue opportunity and shareholders would do well to maximize this.
- zach_garwood 4y agoWhat leads you to believe that 5% of the population is trans? As I understand it, here in the US, where a trans person can be out and actually get treatment, they still make up a fraction of a percent of the population. Even if everyone who even considered they were trans transitioned, I'm guessing they would still make up less than 1% of the population. It's just not that common of a condition, despite what fear-mongering bathroom bills might have you believe.
- sn0w_crash 4y agoI’m saying you could encourage more people to become trans, thereby increasing the pool of available subscribers.
- zach_garwood 4y agoI don't think you "become trans." I'm pretty sure you're just intrinsically trans.
