- caseyohara 4y agoDecibel scale is logarithmic so 600db is 316,227,766,016,556 times louder than 310db
- bergenty 4y agoIt’s so silly. Why would you make a scale logarithmic. Incredibly unintuitive and pointless. All reference scales should be linear.
- simpleintheory 4y agoI think it's because human perception of sound isn't linear, so it purports to more closely match human perception rather than actual amplitude
