Paid it off in 8 years, since I’m not in the US with 30 year fixed interest rate loans, 2 to 5 years “fixed” is the range here. Great decision in the end - I know people who have their monthly payments almost doubling because their loan rates are going from 2.25% to 6%. For me the security and peace of mind of being able to quit my job at any time and support my family even on minimum wage is worth it.
