Nonsense. Depression is a physical brain illness caused by an misbalance of neurotransmitters. Dismissing a serious, dangerous and often fatal illness as something that can be cured by 'rebalancing your chakras' is akin to using homeopathy to cure cancer. While I suspect those with mild mood disorders may be able to think their way out of a lethargic period those with a serious depression need real help. Depression is a big killer: • suicide is the 8th leading cause of death in the United States • 15% of those who are clinically depressed die by suicide • The majority of suicide attempts are expressions of extreme distress that need to be addressed, and not just a harmless bid for attention
