IMO the coming tidal wave of regulation and stabilization will likely be fatal to Musk's empire. This is mostly due to his particular personality strengths and blind spots.
He should disengage and let his slowest, most conscientious people manage FTC discussions while immediately moving Twitter out of the news cycle. There are a lot of ways to accomplish this.
I've studied his personality for years now and this situation with its implied contact with the stabilizing archetypes in government is not something he should mess around with, and he should certainly not take it head-on.
And, maybe controversial but: IMO if he needs support from government he should get it from up-and-coming Democratic party leaders and virtually nowhere else. They will be architects of the stabilization protocol over the next 25 years and the time will come when they will be able to write him out of the world economy directly. He may find his best results here by actively engaging with them in a slightly abstract way through his government customer institutions and existing contracts.
