- yucky 4y agoI don't understand, Twitter lost money every single day for over a decade. Why exactly would anybody from the previous regime be kept?
- minimaxir 4y agoTo lose less money.
- yucky 4y agoI don't think someone pays tens of billions of dollars to continue to lose money, at a slower rate. The goal is clearly to completely change how the company operates. Whether it works or not is yet to be seen, but clearly doing the same thing that has never worked, wasn't ever going to be the goal. It's interesting how upset that makes some people.
- papito 4y agoUsing the word "regime" is a dead giveaway. Neo-libertarians use it to refer to the "oppressive" laws, norms, and basic human decency. It's in the way of chaos, which they use to extract advantage from.
- arrrg 4y agoTwitter was profitable in 2018 and 2019. Obviously COVID was a huge blow in 2020 and the second quarter was awful. Not surprising, given Twitter’s reliance on ads. 2021 looks like a subdued version of 2018 and 2019 and would have been profitable if not for Twitter settling nearly a billion dollar class action lawsuit with its shareholders. I don’t really want to delve deep into analysis. That’s not really what matters. What matters is that you are blatantly not telling the truth. I don’t know whether you are lying or just relying on stereotype.
- yucky 4y agoCorrection, Twitter lost money almost every day for over a decade with the net result being a business that has has lost investors BILLIONS of dollars since going public under completely inept management. Will Elon do better? No idea. But the claim that they should keep running an unprofitable business model makes no sense.
- arrrg 4y agoTwo years out of a decade are 20%. You are still misrepresenting facts.
