1. There is already popular service called Fastlane.
2. It's a Python script. A few functions and a simple CLI, not an entire "self-hosted" "serverless" password manager. It's a stateless password manager. There is no point hosting it anywhere.
3. Using an external service (ANU QRNG) as random generator is completely unnecessary. Use the client.
- Sri_Aditya 4y ago1. Thought it would be funny to name it that due to Dashlane's tedious processes. 2. I made this so I wouldn't have to rely on Dashlane's servers so I called it serverless. Although you are correct in calling stateless instead of self hosted. I will fix that. 3. I thought ANU QRNG was good to use to generate non psuedorandomly to generate a master password just cause it was cool to see microwave background randomness haha.
- Sri_Aditya 4y agooh yeah i forgot, "serverless" here also means the recursive nature of how passwords could be attained without it needing to be stored anywhere.
- Comevius 4y agoBut that's not what serverless means. The idea behind serverless is that you only deploy the code and the cloud provider takes care of everything else, using their servers. Function as a Service is an example. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serverless_computing https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serverless_computing
