- PaulHoule 4y agoI was talking w/ the secretary at my optometrist the other day and she told me that most of the health savings account cards today still lack a chip. You should lock the gate before the horses get out. There ought to be a lawsuit to require EBT cards to be chipped. It is just shocking how special interests in the US are able to lobby to avoid any capital expenditures they don't want to make. When I went to Canada a few years back I found that gas pumps in Canada got chip readers 2 years earlier than the US.
