Ask HN: Any way to get the top weekly Ask HN submissions in my mailbox?
I find "Ask HN: " submissions to be even more interesting than the front page. I don't want to regularly check HN for this though.
There are a few products (like hndigest) that send you the top HN front-page stories, but "Ask HN" submissions rarely make it to the front page. Is there a way I could get the top 10 "Ask HN" submissions twice a week by email?
- mudrockbestgirl 4y agoUse the search, set the weekly filter, and schedule it: https://hn.algolia.com/?dateRange=pastWeek&page=0&prefix=false&query=Ask%20HN&sort=byPopularity&type=story https://hn.algolia.com/?dateRange=pastWeek&page=0&prefix=fal...
- 0x54MUR41 4y agoI am currently using this website to get the 10 highest-rated "Ask HN" weekly. The website doesn't provide a newsletter subscription. But, there is an RSS feed that you can subscribe. https://www.daemonology.net/hn-weekly-ask/ https://www.daemonology.net/hn-weekly-ask/ As a side note, I just want to say thank you to Colin Percival (@cperciva) for creating this. I am not sure you will probably read this :)
- cperciva 4y agoYou're welcome! It's remarkable how useful a few lines of shell script running from a cron job have been.
- krapp 4y agoIt's accessible through the API: https://github.com/HackerNews/API https://github.com/HackerNews/API Although it doesn't seem to be sorted by score.
