BBC – will computers put managers out of work (or “coders are the new managers)
- lifeisstillgood 4y agoMy take is that companies will become "programmable" - all decisions mediated by software, and if you want to chnage how the decisions are made you need a new "release" of the company (cf chnage management). Which basically means that for majority of work done in companies, coders decide how the allocation of resources happen. managers of the coders is this the next battlefield - and that is where you have to ask, will strict hierarchical command and control work ? mission command, google's 8 rules and frankly democracy suggest not.
