first time reading Doctorow?

  Not the very first time but I haven’t read enough, nor met him in real life to understand what kind of character he is. Some of the claims seem so bombastic that it’s difficult to believe anyone sane fully believes in them unironically.

      Right, like I said. Thanks for finding that comment, it definitely shows a trend of bombastic writing. Maybe he only uses this style for some portion, and I just happened to read only them.

        That was my comment. I’m criticizing you for harping on a feature that’s not a bug, from a target you clearly don’t know enough about to skewer.
