Same feeling. I initially passed on the offer because I couldn't work remotely from my country of choice. They later contacted me when that'd changed, but I'd found another job by then that I was happy with. (Plus, the whole "do I want to work for them?" thing.) Probably would've been let go, because less tenure + nonstandard working arrangement + mass firings is not a good combo.
