Why both deposits and withdrawals? They risk spooking their customers by preventing withdrawals. If you wanted to mitigate risk, wouldn't you just prevent deposits/buys?
- stusmall 4y agoBecause what their customers are afraid of might be true, they don't have the assets.
- geerlingguy 4y agoTrying to prevent a bank run, most likely. And/or they don't have the cash to survive even a small selloff.
