iOS 16.1.1 restricts AirDrop to Chinese iPhone users
- uni_baconcat 4y agoApple restricts AirDrop feature for all iPhones sold in China. Now in iOS 16.1.1, 'Everyone' option will come with 10 minutes countdown, and then it will automatically change to 'Contacts only' mode.
- rektide 4y agoSome way to share with people around us- unmediated by Big Tech- would be really nice. Android Beam and Apple AirDrop being the only technical offerings, both being closed, is so unfortunate. No innovation & experimentation is permitted, because the protocols are all closed. I'd love so much to see some actual standards develop.
