One of Elon Musk's strengths seems to be in hiring people to do the things he's not that good at. I know he fired the Executive in charge of this last week. Maybe he has a new strategy, but I haven't seen any evidence so far (other than user counts being up) that it seems to be working. I saw Oreo say they were stopping advertising, have any companies publicly suggested they're more confident after talking to Musk?
- salad-fan 4y agoHe just fired thousands of people who are good at things he isn’t, so I’m not sure I agree with your first sentence. But to your concluding question, yes that’s something I’m also intrigued by, and have yet to see any evidence of.

I’ve noticed however that Musk’s doesn’t seem to try to sell the vision of why it’s good for the people he’s selling to, he mostly sells the grander vision of why it’s good for humanity. That probably works great for a rocket ship company and fine for a car company when what a rich celebrity wants for a car is the same thing we all want for a car, but may not work so well in assuaging relatively conservative advertises and a diverse customer base.
