Isn't it borderline arrogance to ask this question? People are impacted and you care about your favorite tool? React will exist, and it open source, if you care, you have options do something about it.
- thealienthing 4y agoI don’t think it’s arrogant to be concerned about such a tool especially considering that other peoples livelihood also depend on such important tools like react. It’s possible to be concerned about the people developing a tool AND the tool itself.
- thallavajhula 4y agoIt really does lack empathy. It's disappointing. IDK why you're getting downvoted even though you have a point here. React is open source and it's an organization by itself. It will survive. Worst case scenario: one of the OSS leaders will fork it and get help from others. Easier said than done, but that's one of the options that ppen source provides you. For the lack of a better example, when Bill and Melinda (Gates) got divorced, people were worried about the Gates foundation. They even posted about it in their official note of separation to the community. Now, that makes sense. Asking about an open source project that's already quite stable, right after Meta lays off employees is in poor taste.
- cercatrova 4y agoWhy would it be arrogant? If I'm using something that my business depends on, such as a library like React, you're damn right I want to know how it'll affect me. Now I can be concerned about the people who make the tool, but I can also be concerned about the tool itself.
- orsenthil 4y agoReact is open source, and if your business depends upon it, it uses the open source version.
