And what about when you want to build a business, Einstein?
- there 15y agogood news: companies are people! let the company build credit.
- jarek 15y agoBoot, meet strap.
- dextorious 15y agoNot all companies are software startup to bootstrapped on ramen and determination. Some require actual buildings, expensive equipment, etc before they can even exist. A restaurant is a case in point.
- jarek 15y agoStrictly speaking with a restaurant your largest expense, rent, is ongoing rather than upfront. Your point in general is valid, though I would argue that for someone truly motivated to make a point, it's not impossible to start with smaller businesses (incl. non-software businesses) or a bunch of savings and progressively work your way up to kick-starting larger business.
- nvarsj 15y agoYou have a point. Without credit, much small business would simply not be able to exist, or have ever existed in the first place. It's one of our fundamental paths for economic mobility.
