We can pretend that we are doing amazing, shattering one growth target after another, but this is not the reality. Reality is not liberal bullshit, it's consequences are real. Admitting we have a problem is the first step, which is why we need a better measure, one that includes how the rest of us are doing, not just the wealthy. It also doesn't hurt to include how sustainable all of this, because if it's not than what's the point of growth.

- Comevius 4y agoThe world is returning to poverty because we are running out of key resources, and the environment is becoming hostile to us, mostly as a result of greenhouse gases. You should stop listening to loudmouths on social media, they are using the word Marxist wrong, and nobody has an agenda to destroy the world. It's not the left's science, it's science. Our economy is unsustainable, there are no two ways about it. We always put a big emphasis on measures like the GDP because they are comfortable, convenient, easy to work with.
