I think this makes sense. Assuming MAGMA is the new FAANG, my experience inside the majority of them agrees. Everyone knows that there is 1 or 2 golden goose teams supporting the entire rest of the company (iPhone, Facebook Ads, Google Search Ads). But smart people also know that one terrible quarter for any of those and the house of cards comes down. So 90% of the employees are concerned year-round with goose-hunting. Maybe once or twice a decade they find one.
