Reading this alongside all the layoffs threads going around, I can’t help but wonder how many of these roles are going to be around in 2023. It does feel like there’s large amounts of complexity that don’t need to exist, but why not have them in an upmarket when capital is free. This is most telling in the increase in average team size, this implies many of those teams could do the same with less. Sprinkled amongst this is genuine value and the hard but lucrative job will be in knowing how to distinguish the value from the waste.
