Palmer Luckey Made a VR Headset That Kills the User If They Die in the Game
- gamified 4y agoI guess this is the definition of mad genius. It's a good thing he's building autonomous weapons and is backed by the US government, otherwise he might be applying his skills towards some less worthy endeavor like curing cancer.
- AkshatJ27 4y agoIs the headset still usable after killing a person?
- unstatusthequo 4y ago3 on eBay listed as Open Box. Great deal it seems. ;)

- a9h74j 4y agoAll of the online first-hand reviews are positive. Name that bias
- westcort 4y agoWhat would the opposite be? A sensory deprivation chamber that brings people back from the dead? Maybe a crechepod?
- bitwize 4y agoSo we have Elon Musk, currently speedrunning the destruction of a company nominally worth $44 billion; and Palmer Luckey playing Dr. Strangelove by creating a weeb-inspired death helmet, all while providing the U.S. government with the tools to remotely execute its opponents. But the thing that should really scare us is trans activists detoxifying the internet by getting Tier 1 ISPs to blackhole hate sites. Right.
- hax0ron3 4y agoI dunno, both big tech's collusion with the government and censorious activists working to purge the Internet worry me. It's not one or the other.
- subjectsigma 4y agoIt's literally a joke piece. Calm the fuck down.
