Sometimes I feel like the last person left who raised traditional angel money and then VC money. We paid our first engineer market rate and had actual benefits. Our cap tables are pretty traditional and we haven't had much trouble hiring all things considered (though we are extremely picky). I have to say, if you have to give 20% of the company to your first engineer in order to get him/her on board, then I don't really see the benefit in going the incubator route over traditional funding.
