Perhaps ideas exist only on a spectrum.
Some devs enjoy taking ownership and 'get' strategy. The 'jobbers' complete their tickets and call it a day.
Scrum and other rigid processes work well for some but inhibit others.
If devs want Agile because everyone's doing it, it's probably for them. If they don't and are consistently delivering, that's great.
- SQueeeeeL 4y agoYeah, it's a shame most planning is done by managers/PMs with very limited technical knowledge. They enforce top-down project strategies with basically no understanding of their employees psychology or motivation

I’m no proponent of ‘agile for agile’s sake’ but I question whether a statement like ‘most planning is done by managers/PMs with very limited technical knowledge’ is anything other than hyperbole. I’d love to see some facts to back that statement up, since it would really help to clarify the air around this frequently contentious topic. Otherwise it’s just noise. Not to mention very out of step with best practices around ‘agile’.
