I went Kubuntu, even on my gaming PC, decided to cut my losses as far as any games that don't work, and it has been worth it. I'll never return to Windows. Proton + Steam + Heroic has made so many games easily playable and installable, and my game backlog is so big, that I'll always have something to play. (I don't play any games with anti-cheat issues on Linux, only play a few multiplayer games at all)
Sure, if I need a deep-level photo editor like Affinity Photo (or some other occasional-use tool that does not have what I consider a good enough equivalent on Linux), or a situation where I'm bought into ecosystems and particular tools somewhat (music production - plugins + Studio One) I may turn to a secondary machine with another OS. But these are very specific use cases.
For 90%+ of my daily home PC use, it is all Linux.
I am so glad to be out of Microsoft's realm for the most part now. It feels good not dealing with the BS of Windows. Computing is enjoyable again.
If Canonical ever crosses a threshold where I feel like they're becoming too much like the corporate operating systems, I'll switch to something else, and switching will be relatively easy.
