As far as I can tell this works when people search for you by domain. But what happens when you comment on somebody's post? Will they see @user@domain.com or @user@mastodon.social or whatever?
I'd really like to bring my own domain to mastodon but I'm not confident it works fully yet.
- jacooper 4y ago@user@domain.com Its similar to how delegation works in the Matrix Protocol.
- KindAndFriendly 4y agoMy understanding is that OP is running their own Fediverse server under fedi.aeracode.org. The challenge was that the server was not running at the root of the web server hence the need for the redirect code and the resulting blog post. But yes, OP can now act under @user@domain.com in the Fediverse, reply as such etc.
