I would guess (hope?) that all Astronomers would run amok against any company trying to do that... There are areas in the US where you're not even allowed to operate a microwave oven because of the sensible astronomy instrumentation that it would disturb (NRQZ). This would be massively more unpopular. Or so I would hope

They would and already do against all kinds of light pollution (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Light_pollution https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Light_pollution) I think it is doubtful whether it would help in today’s climate, though (“why would these elitist scientists have the sole right to decide what we can do?”)
