Not sure how universal its in all of Europe but at least where I live, nobody uses SMS for communication. To the point that government services are unofficially using viber and WhatsApp to communicate with citizens.
In recent years I only used SMS for 2FA.
- realusername 4y agoThat's exactly the reason why iMessage isn't used much in Europe, it's seen as an SMS client and SMS aren't used anymore. Half of the problem is a branding issue (calling it "messages" on the phone did not help) and the other half of the issue is that it's not available on Android
