I prefer it too. I'm definitely faster and better at bagging. I don't get home with broken eggs and squished bread.
I also can avoid the cashier commenting about my items ("I've never seen this before.", "what is this?", "Wow, this is expensive.", etc)
The receipt checkers though, yeah that one gets to me. Whatever advantages or time savings I realized by working with the robot just went out the window when I have to queue up in the "papers please" line.
One time I bought some Fiji water, the lady was staring at my receipt and frantically looking through my cart. She finally asked what "fiji" was and I told her it was the water. "Oh, I don't usually buy that off-brand stuff" she commented. What, that doesn't really make sense and also no one asked you what _you_ prefer.
