In the Netherlands there’s a place called “Boomerang” where one can dispose of used or partial broken things. The workers there (I guess some are volunteering) sort them out, repair and put them up for sale. So really good stuff are available for really low price. All that is to say, it wasn’t pain in the ass when I was in the Netherlands.
